GMI Day: Investing in Team Spirit, Evolving Together, Growing Stronger at GasanMamo Insurance

On June 21st, the employees of GasanMamo Insurance came together to celebrate “GMI Day”, the company’s annual celebration. This year’s event, held at Xara Lodge near Rabat, marked another successful and action-packed day in the company’s calendar, with excellent attendance from staff.

The theme for this year was “Invest, Evolve, Grow.” In the dynamic environment of the workplace it is essential for employees to adapt to changes – whether they involve policies, procedures, or colleagues. Adjusting to change can be challenging, but events like GMI Day and other regular team-building and social activities foster collaboration and teamwork amongst GasanMamo employees.

With a growing workforce of over 200 employees, it has become increasingly challenging to gather everyone together outside the office. GMI Day offers the perfect opportunity for the entire team to connect, engage, and build stronger relationships. “We believe that GMI Day helps us create fun activities that allow our employees to connect in a different environment and interact with each other in a new setting. It is also an opportunity to demonstrate that the insurance sector is a great choice for employment offering a variety of career prospects. GasanMamo Insurance is an excellent choice for starting a career, not necessarily limited to writing insurance risks or handling insurance claims,” said Vanessa Portelli, General Manager at GasanMamo.

This year’s GMI Day featured an engaging afternoon filled with entertaining and educational events. The day began with a team-building icebreaker exercise and then proceeded with a presentation by Julian J. Mamo, Managing Director at GasanMamo, outlining the company’s beginnings, performance and future. Understanding the journey from the past to the present and visualising the future of GasanMamo Insurance.

Following this, Dr. Gege Gatt, CEO of a London-based company EBO.ai, delivered a presentation on the future and artificial intelligence. The event also honoured long-serving staff members with awards presented by Joseph A. Gasan, Chairman of GasanMamo Insurance.

The formal part of the day was followed by fun outdoor team-building games organised by JUGS. The day concluded with a BBQ and party.

This year’s GMI Day was another successful opportunity for GasanMamo staff to interact outside the office environment whilst also communicating important information regarding the company. “This initiative fosters a sense of unity and belonging within the company. It motivates and engages our staff, continuing to inspire a sense of community among different generations of GasanMamo employees, and highlights the many opportunities for career growth in the insurance sector,” said Julian J. Mamo, Managing Director.
