At GasanMamo, we are proud to have supported the Youth Camp organised by the Maltese Diabetes Association, dedicated to empowering young people living with Type 1 Diabetes. Held from the 12th to the 14th of September at the Seminary in Tal-Virtù, this camp was not only a tremendous success but also a memorable and inspiring experience for all involved.
Type 1 Diabetes is a lifelong condition that requires constant management and attention. For young people, this can pose significant physical and emotional challenges. That’s why initiatives like this camp are so important—they provide the tools, knowledge, and emotional support that young people need to manage their diabetes confidently and live full, healthy lives. The camp offered a safe space for participants to share their experiences, address their concerns, and feel supported in a community of peers who truly understand what they are going through.
We firmly believe in empowering youth, and we are happy to have been part of this initiative. The camp created a wonderful environment for young people to come together, connect, and discuss the unique challenges they face while living with Type 1 Diabetes. By focusing on open dialogue, shared learning, and mutual support, the camp helped participants build resilience and confidence to overcome these challenges.
This camp was a powerful reminder of the importance of fostering not only physical health but also emotional well-being for youths living with diabetes. Through activities and discussions, participants learned valuable strategies for self-management and gained insights into how to navigate life with a chronic condition. It was an empowering and transformative experience that will have a lasting impact on all those who attended.
Mark Mamo, Director of GasanMamo Insurance said “We are incredibly proud to have supported this empowering experience and look forward to being part of more initiatives that create positive, lasting change in the lives of youths. Well done to everyone involved, and a special thanks to the Maltese Diabetes Association for making this event possible. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our young people”.
